Hopewell offers a variety of off-site learning and educational opportunities to the students that are more practical-based ‘hands-on’ learning programmes. The students receive a range of courses that they can select from, each has an accredited certificate with a further option of a work experience placement when they are in year 10.
Our students are currently based at Motorvations Project, Skillshop, Lambourne End Farm and Footsteps Academy.
offers trade skills learning in motor mechanics alongside Health & Fitness and DT. Our year 10 – 12 students are studying on an NVQ level 1 course with work experience opportunities and placements attached to each area of study.
has a range of areas that the students can select from as part of obtaining initially a Level 1 City & Guilds qualification in Construction. The students gain experience, Tiling, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing and learning Carpentry before they begin the course. We have year 8 students who are excelling in Carpentry and a year 12 student who is nearing completion of his Level 1 qualification.
Lambourne End Farm
has the offer of a City & Guilds Level 1 qualification in Animal Care. We currently have 1 student attending and he has taken to the farm and the workload very well. His social skills, self confidence and attitude to learning has improved alongside his aspirations has been raised significantly.
Footsteps Football Academy
offers a BTEC Level 1 in Sports Leadership and Sport & Leisure. We have two year 10 students attending Footsteps. They are currently embarking on a Sports Leadership course in the hope that they can use the skills, knowledge and experience to become qualified football coaches within their local communities.
